Martha And Mary Were Sisters
Martha And Mary where both followers of Jesus.
But lets compare the two of them with respect to God's reliable Bible verses.
Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42
Now check this out...
They were sisters and just experienced their brother raised from the dead after 4 days by Jesus,
and in case you didn't know, their brother was Lazarus, cousin to Jesus. Now they are all at home after this miracle.
Martha was a busy body "doing" as Mary "rested" at the feet of Jesus "listening".I've been in many Churches and experienced an awesome Holy Spirit filled message and walk away in like a 3rd Heaven while others soon as the message is over begin talking and planning their afternoon , where to get lunch, wheres my coat, etc
This is the difference.
Their are 2 types of Christians. Both are saved and going to Heaven. But while we are waiting, one will have peace on Earth the other will not. A lot Christians are busy doing and some are listening...
They missed the miracle! Yet they are truly saved. Martha was a believer as was Mary but I don't think Martha ever truly enjoyed her life as Mary did.
Which one are you?
I am not saying you shouldn't "do" or plan ok.
What I am saying is before you "do" or plan you should first listen for a season. A lot of sincere Christians have this backwards. I truly believe this is the source of their lack of peace and obvious stress. They didn't rest and simply listen.
They always think they need to help God... they cannot wait upon the Lord to renew their strength. They forgot it is finished.
Be moved "to do and plan" by faith, hope and love, not by a command!
This is religion based and not relationship. This is what Martha was doing.
Martha + religion = stress.
Mary + relationship = peace.
Remember this... the devil drives but the Lord leads.
Stay tuned more has to come!!!
In the mean time Martha and Mary... choose one.
